Sonnet 18

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date.
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair some time declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course, untrimm`d;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st;
Nor shall Death brag thou wand'rest in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st:
So long as men can breath or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

This is one of the most famous of the sonnets written by Shakespear. Beautiful isn't it? It is refered to in the films "Dead Poets Society" and "Shakespear in Love".

Too bad the content isn't something that is socially acceptable. Even in this century.

Over the last short weekends, i went up and came back from KL!

I is damn demoralised now.

Well on the bright side, i'm going back with the missus again this weekend.

Woo hoo!

To a certain someone, life is great with you by my side.

Quoting Henry Ford,

"If you think you can, you can. And if you think you can't, you're right."

I like this quote.

So some might already know, i am currently interning at a well-known MNC located in the Eastern part of the island.

This is nothing like "The Simple Life: Internship". I don't get to talk to my boss and comment "that's hot". Neither do i get to play pranks on people in the office. This is just your normal Joe's 9am to 6pm job.

Truth is, this job isn't what i had originally wanted. This is the third internship that i applied before i got a company that accepted me. The one that i really wanted was with the corporate affairs department of a local public listed group.

Given a choice, i would prefer writing and talking than staring at numbers and letters that string into a code that just won't make any cow sense to me. Not that i am not a cow for that matter. It just won't make sense.

Luckily i am borned with great patience for detail works and thus, i don't mind the job. Plus this job is accompanied by the provision of nice enviroment in a big office. There is free flow of milo. My cube is hugh, my drawers are big and my air-plane luggage cabins are cool too. What more can i ask for when they even gave me a telephone line that i can call my own. Plus a lappy that is generations before mine.

Did i forgot to mention free flow of milo?

Muahaha...

The whole of today i had only consumed 3 cups of milo and one muffin. I am going to slim down. Fast. 3 more days before i leave the island for a short break. Better get back my once existed abs for photo taking at the hotel swimming pool.

A few weeks ago, just as i was warming up to the idea of having the car over the weekends and started to think that all Singaporean are well off, i saw this old lady eating something from a worn wrapper in the middle of a large pile of cardboard. . To top off the shock for the complacent me, i was in CBD then and it was only 8 am on a busy weekday. Mrs Chongky and i just had breakfast and were on the way to 7-eleven to get mochi. Talking about good life, eh.

Something weird stuck me when i saw the old lady. I wanted to shake it off, but i wasn't successful. I could have drove off straight away to sleep or to slack. But something made me went back to the food centre to get a simple fish congee for her. A simple fish congee to her is something that she is so glad to have.

In her own words, "ni mai zhe yang hao gay wo chi wo you chi". Translating it, since you bought so good food for me i would eat it.

She told me she was eating biscuit already, as she looked at me with appreciation and bits of biscuit all over her face.

Just as we pull our hair out over our options to dine in when we were in town, did it ever occur to us that the amount we would spend in Crystal Jade would be able to buy that old lady food for more than one whole day?

No. I am so spoilt that i do not realise that less better off people are right in the midst of us. Yes it does occur to me how expensive things are and how i don't mind spending my money. But i simply ignore the implications of my actions.

Just because we are on land, it doesn't make us any less vulnerable. Putting ourselves in the open sea in a single kayak, yes we feel the stress. We feel how small we are in the cradle of Mother Nature. How about on land then? Are we any less vulnerable? Ain't we all tiny compared to the size of the land? Out in the open sea, being in a group can make us feel complacent about the danger that we face in the wild, are we fucking complacent now that we are on land in the middle of the large ass crowd on a tiny island?

I wanted to go back to look for that old lady again, to buy her breakfast or coffee, and listen to her story. She seem alone and vulnerable. Don't we all feel especially vulnerable when we are alone?

I bet ya don't know this. "That's hot" is actually successfully trademarked by Paris Hilton.

Dear all, let me introduce my new best friend to you. Forget Mrs Chongky, the all time best friend and soulmate and partner (hopefully for life).

Meet Dolce & Gabbana Gold Razor.

My new best friend (NBF) is also known as the "special edition", clone of the "limited edition". Except NSB is not the exact clone. It is not borned with video of history of D&G or the unique serial number engraved on the back.

But still, it is borned with the same sliding box in gold and silver, the same colour and words of it's parents D&G at the back, and the same wallpaper.

It does come with the D&G hp chain too!

Well when i have the time to upload the pictures from my phone then you will see what i'm talking about.

In the meantime, go hunt down me or Mrs Chongky with gold object hanging down from our neck. MUAHAHA...
